In the fall of 2025, the enemy broke through the north of Kupiansk and entered the city. To eliminate the threat, Khartiia Search and Strike Group (SSG) was created, which included units of the 13th khartiia Brigade of Ukraine's National Guard, the 475th Code 9.2 Assault Regiment, the 92nd Assault Brigade, International Legion of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the 144th Mechanized Brigade. The operation is planned and commanded by the 2nd khartiia Corps of Ukraine's National Guard. In particular, the commander of the corps Colonel Igor “Kornet” Obolienskii.
In October–November, units of the khartiia SSG defeated several enemy battalions and assault units, liberated Kindrashivka, Radkivka, and their surroundings, reached the Oskil River, and completely blocked the occupiers' land routes to Kupiansk. The battle continues: Ukrainian defense forces are clearing the city house by house. The Kupiansk axis remains one of the key areas in the Kharkiv region and requires constant support.
